Park Lingezegen
From a single festival to a year-round experience
Between Arnhem and Nijmegen lies Park Lingezegen: a park where nature, recreation and meeting come together. What began with a handful of separate events grew in a short time into a full-fledged annual program with more than 12 events. We help the organization bring structure, vision and connection, resulting in a park that lives, moves and inspires, all year round.
The challenge
After the construction of the event site in Park Lingezegen, things remained remarkably quiet. The corona period had left its mark and there was no one who really had the time, focus or network to get the programming going. The potential was there, as were the plans, but there was a lack of direction and coherence. We were asked to let that energy flow, set the course and fill the grounds with life, year-round. Strategically and practically.
The approach
We began by listening. Through conversations and a questionnaire, we mapped out what residents, organizers and partners wanted to see in the park. From art and culture to commemoration, nature, film and food, the desire was clear: programming that suited everyone.
Then we brought parties together. By actively engaging in discussions with Matrixx Events and others, we created a broad and balanced annual program. At the same time we worked on the basis: a clear vision, a workable structure and a sustainable ambition for the future. The cooperation with the Overbetuwe municipality was strengthened. In addition, the major permit processes were completed and the event site was finally given the role it deserves: a place where meeting, experiencing and connecting come together.
The result
What began with one or two separate events quickly grew into a lively annual program full of variety. From intimate commemorations to vibrant festivals and summer film evenings in the open air. Park Lingezegen has again become a place where people come together, experience and enjoy.
The organization now has a clear future vision for the events and network department as well as a sustainability ambition that guides further development. With a solid foundation and a growing network, there is a solid foundation for the next step: strengthening the community around the park in 2026.
The result? A park that breathes, moves and connects again.
